In the beginning of the Six Sigma movement, the martial arts belt system was adopted as a way to show knowledge and progression through the methodology. The belt colors that became most popularized are:
- White Belt – Overview of tools and methods
- Yellow Belt – White Belt + Lean tools
- Green Belt – Yellow Belt + statistical analysis (with software) and advanced quality methods
- Black Belt – Green Belt + advanced statistical analysis, improvement deployment and mentoring Green Belts
- Master Black Belt – Black Belt + numerous Black Belt projects, large complex projects, and mentoring Black Belts and Executives
Our Green Belt program includes all White and Yellow Belt training content.
WHITE BELT
Before deciding to pursue a certification program, you might consider starting at the White Belt level.
We do not offer a White Belt certification, only a White Belt training certificate. We don’t offer certifications unless there is some application of the learning to a real-life project.

YELLOW BELT
We have completed our initial pilot with nonprofits, and are excited to announce the launch of the Lean Yellow Belt program. This is a comprehensive training on Lean methods and techniques (more than what most organizations provide on Lean).
